Did you know that "argh" is not supposed to be pronounced with a "G" at the end? The "gh" merely denotes how guttural the "ar" sound is supposed to be. Don't say it like, "are," say it with gusto, like Long John Silver!

That's one of the many pirate pieces of info I've learned in preparing for my NANOWRIMO novel. I've actually been studying the pirate language, which is really quite interesting.

And now I'll repeat what I said above: Do you know any good pirate movies? Or pirate books, for that matter? Oh, and do you have a favorite version of Treasure Island?

Pirate movies I already love:
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl (only one of the trilogy I liked)
Captain Blood (First Errol Flynn film)
The Adventures of Don Juan (Errol Flynn)
Against All Flags (Errol Flynn)
Buccaneer's Girl (Funny love story type thing)
Treasure Planet (animated sci-fi interpretation of Treasure Island)

I'm also interested in movies that display the pirate spirit, like Indiana Jones. (He doesn't always follow the law, he explores, and he hunts for treasure. Need I say more?)
